About Ash Sands

I am an architectural and property photographer with more than 15 years of experience creating visual media for residential, hospitality and commercial projects.

My interest in photography began at an early age and quickly developed into a particular fascination with architecture, light and the way spaces are represented.

​

I began my career in Soho, London, working in a photographic lab where I was introduced to traditional photographic techniques including transparency retouching, dodging and burning, and darkroom processing.

 

That early experience gave me a strong appreciation for detail, craft and the importance of getting an image right from the start.

​

Over the years I have lived and travelled around the world, combining photography with another major part of my life: commercial diving. Those experiences shaped the way I approach people, places and unfamiliar environments, and taught me to work calmly, practically and with attention to detail.

Photography has changed enormously during my career, but the principles that matter to me have not. Good imagery should feel considered, natural and appropriate to the property or brand it represents.

Today, through Ash Sands Media, I produce architectural photography, property film, aerial media and measured floor plans for premium estate agencies, developers and hospitality businesses.
